Peoria Fine Arts Association announces contest winners

Peoria Fine Arts Association held a reception Sept. 27 and announced winners in its annual art competition.

PFAA President Mary Ellen Hawks gave a Best of Show certificate to Lois Meyer for her watercolor painting, “Beware the Eyes of Marsh,” a colorful peek into the world of a predatory alligator.

William F. Martin received an award of Excellence for his oil painting, “Pals,” while Berni Carney also received an award of Excellence for her alcohol ink painting, “Dynamite.”

Jane Brown received an award of Merit for her watercolor, “Sea Fan.”

All of the entries are priced for sale.

The PFAA exhibit will be on view at Peoria City Hall through Oct. 25. The West Valley Art Museum Art Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and noon to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Peoria City Hall is at 8401 W. Monroe St. in historic Old Town Peoria.
