Sunrise Mountain Mustangs 63, Kellis Cougars 22

Sunrise Mountain quarterback Keegan Freid passed for 316 yards and five touchdowns, and rushed for 104 yards and two more touchdowns as the Mustangs cruised to a 63-22 victory over Kellis Oct. 5 at Kellis High School.
Receiver Jay Anderson, who missed last week’s game, returned to grab 10 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns, and Brandon Bogard rushed for 143 yards and caught two passes for 26 yards and a touchdown for the Mustangs.
Kellis’ Zack Muller grabbed five receptions for 154 yards and quarterback Cade Peterson threw for 209 yards and rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Elijah Juarez rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
Kellis (0-7) hosts Apollo (2-5) at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at Kellis High School.

Peoria Panthers 39, Estrella Foothills Wolves 19

The Panthers defense continues their improvement, holding the Wolves under 20 points as Peoria scored a 39-19 victory over Estrella Foothills Oct. 5 at Peoria High School.
Running back Juwaun Price rushed for 213 yards and three touchdowns and Kyle Samford completed six of 15 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers victory. Malachi Potee rushed for 103 yards and Jovon Scott caught three passes for 114 yards and a touchdown as the offense scored more than 35 points for the sixth time in seven games.
Defensively, Sean Enriquez had a sack and Micho Cordero intercepted a pass as the defense held the Wolves, who had averaged 32 points a game, to fewer than 20 in the win.
Peoria (6-1) travels to Glendale Deer Valley (0-7) at 7 p.m. Oct 12 at Deer Valley High School.

Centennial Coyotes 49, Sunnyslope Vikings 0

Eight different players scored a touchdown as the Coyotes continued to dominate their opponents with a 49-0 victory Oct. 5 over Sunnyslope at Sunnyslope High School.
The Coyotes defense shined, scoring their second shutout of the season, as they have allowed an average of eight points a game. Sunnyslope’s offense was held to fewer than 100 yards as the swarming Coyotes defense continues to dominate their opponents.
Jaydin Young, Davon Fountain, Tyler Hovatter and Tawee Walker each scored a rushing touchdown while Jeiel Stark, Dyelan Miller and Eric Haney each caught a touchdown in the win. Quarterback Jonathan Morris connected on 11 of 19 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.
Centennial (7-0) travels to Glendale Ironwood (5-2) at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at Ironwood High School.

Liberty Lions 49, Boulder Creek Jaguars 34

Jett Kinsch and Jonah Guevara rushed for a combined 273 yards and five touchdowns as the Lions battled for a 49-34 victory over Boulder Creek Oct. 5 at Liberty High School.
Kinsch rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns while Guevara added 122 yards and three touchdowns as the Lions rushed for 292 yards as a team. Guevara also threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns, both to Cameron Ellis, who caught five passes for 164 yards.
The Lions defense held Boulder Creek to 48 yards rushing as a team as they controlled the game late. Kinsch had a sack and Anthony Porras intercepted a pass as the defense held off a late Jaguars push to seal the victory.
Liberty (7-0) travels to Phoenix Pinnacle (6-1) at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at Pinnacle High School.

Desert Edge Scorpions 33, Cactus Cobras 22

A late rally for the Cobras fell short as Desert Edge’s defense made the difference as the Scorpions defeated Cactus 33-22 Oct. 5 at Desert Edge High School.
Cactus quarterback Conner Cordts passed for 194 yards and two touchdowns, but was intercepted twice, as the offense was held to negative-three yards rushing.
Zach Cullop caught eight passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns as seven Cobras caught a pass in the loss.
Defensively, Nicc Quinones had two sacks while Trey Lee and Robert Lipsey each had a sack while Cullop intercepted a pass.
Cactus (5-2) hosts Lake Havasu (4-3) at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at Cactus High School.
