CENTENNIAL COYOTES 35, CIENEGA BOBCATS 0

After defeating an national champion and Arizona state champion in its first two games, the Centennial defense feasted on Cienega in a 35-0 win Sept. 7 at Centennial High School.
 
Jonathan Morris passed for 189 yards and two touchdowns while Tawee Walker rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns as the Coyotes pounded out 389 total yards.
 
The Coyotes’ defense was strong, holding Cienega to 87 total yards and MJ Walker returned a fumble 75 yards for a touchdown in leading Centennial to victory.
 
Centennial (3-0) tavels to Tucson Ironwood Ridge (1-2) 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at Ironwood Ridge High School.

BETTY FAIRFAX STAMPEDE 56, KELLIS COUGARS 6

The Kellis offense struggled for the third straight game, totaling only 65 yards, as the Stampede cruised to a 56-6 victory at Laveen Betty Farifax High School Sept. 7.

A quarterback sneak by senior quarterback Will Collins pushed Fairfax up 14-0 with just under six minutes played in the game. Running back Anthodius Ashley would score four touchdowns in the game to lead the Stampede.
 
Ashley finished the game with 27 carries for 268 yards and four touchdowns, and Collins finished with seven carries for 90 yards, and two rushing touchdowns, while throwing for 166 yards on only 12 attempts.
 
Kellis quarterback Cade Peterson threw for 84 yards and a touchdown, but the offense rushed for negative 19 yards as a team in the loss.
 
Kellis (0-3) travels to Queen Creek Casteel (3-1) at 7 p.m. Sept 14 at Casteel High School.

PEORIA PANTHERS 52, MOHAVE THUNDERBIRDS 14

Peoria’s Malachi Potee, Cameron Mack and Juwaun Price each rushed for more than 100 yards as the Panthers cruised to a 52-14 victory over the Thunderbirds Sept. 7 at Mohave High School.

Potee rushed five times for 117 yards and a touchdown,.Mack also rushed five times for 113 yards and a touchdown in the win. Price added 102 yards and two touchdowns as the Panthers rushed for a team total 328 yards.
 
Peoria’s defense allowed 309 rushing yards to the Thunderbirds, led by William Robizine, who pounded out 170 yards.
 
Peoria (3-0) hosts Phoenix Thunderbird (1-2) 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at Peoria High School.

CACTUS COBRAS 32, ESTRELLA FOOTHILLS WOLVES 19

Cactus used a rounded offense as four different players scored as the Cobras defeated Estrella Foothills 32-19 Sept. 7 at Estrella Foothills High School.

Conner Cordts threw two touchdown passes and Zaach Cullop grabbed two touchdown receptions in the win.
 
The Cobras’ offense totaled 270 yards in the win and the defense, led by Nate Quinones’ two sacks, totaled five sacks as a team.
 
Cactus (3-0) hosts Tucson Salpointe Catholic (3-0) at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at Cactus High School.

PEORIA LIBERTY 21, MESA DESERT RIDGE JAGUARS 14

After averaging nearly 35 points a game through their first three games, the Liberty Lions offense struggled early but battled back from down 14 to pull away for a 21-14 victory Sept. 7 at Desert Ridge High School.

Jett Kinsch rushed for 113 yards and Jonah Guevara threw for 150 yards and rushed for a touchdown while Jace Accurso scored twice to lead the Lions to victory.
 
The Lions’ defense was strong with Eli Pittman, Cameron Ellis and Ryan Puskas each intercepting Desert Ridge quarterback Austin Kolb to secure the victory.
 
Liberty (4-0) hosts San Jose (Calif.) Leland Chargers (1-1) 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at Liberty High School.
