Tim Madigan, one-time journalist for the Fort Worth Star Telegram, was given an assignment to do an article on Mr. Rogers. Out of that interview grew a deeply personal friendship that Madigan said changed his life. He recounts his friendship with Mr. Rogers in his book, “I’m Proud of You: My Friendship with Fred Rogers.”

Madigan will be telling stories about his friendship with the national icon at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at Community of Grace Lutheran Church, 10561 W. Pinnacle Peak Road, Peoria. The event is free and open to the public.

Madigan will also be speaking at all three worship services at Community of Grace: 5 p.m. Nov. 17 and 8:45 and 10:15 a.m. Nov. 18.
