As the 2018-19 season got underway with huge expectations, the Arizona Coyotes offense struggled to get rolling in dropping their first two games of the season.

The offense, which is expected to be a bright spot for the Coyotes, struggled in a 3-0 loss to Dallas Oct. 4, followed by a 1-0 loss to Anaheim in the home opener Oct. 6 at Gila River Arena.

Dallas’ Devin Shore, Alexander Radulov and John Klingberg scored less than two minutes apart in the second period of a 3-0 win over the Coyotes Oct. 4 in Dallas.

Shore broke a scoreless tie by putting in a rebound as he was falling to the ice.

Radulov beat defenseman Alex Goligoski after battling one on one for the puck as they skated up the ice and slipped it between Coyotes goaltender Antii Raanta’s pads 27 seconds later.

Just over a minute later, Klingsberg took the puck, skated up the side of the ice on a 4-on-4 and beat Raanta inside the far post.

Raanta finished with 25 saves as Dallas goalkeeper Ben Bishop scored the shutout, stopping all 30 saves he faced.

Returning home Oct. 6 for the home opener, Anaheim’s goaltender stopped all 41 shots he faced and Max Comtois scored with less than a minute left in the second period to secure the Ducks’ 1-0 win and drop the Coyotes to 0-2.
